Ghana international Kwasi Sibo says he is working hard to ensure he does not drop his level after making his debut for the Black Stars.
The Real Oviedo midfielder made his first appearance for the national team in the win over Mali earlier this week at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Sibo was a late addition to the squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, missing the game against Chad before playing all minutes available in the victory over the Eagles.
The midfielder, who returned to Spain ahead of club football resuming, says he is only motivated to work harder after his national team debut.
"Everything has depended on me. I was always calm, positive, and working for it. I have a lot of faith and waited for my moment. It’s true that my life has changed, but now it’s just about working and not lowering the level," he said.
Sibo also made his debut in the Spanish La Liga this season after securing promotion with Oviedo.
Quizzed about his adaptation in the Spanish topflight, he said, “It’s going well, but work, training, and rest are very important.
"We are in the best competition in the world, and you have to take good care of yourself."
After their first win of the league season, Sibo's Oviedo will take on Getafe in their next league game on Saturday, September 13.
