An early morning accident on the Accra–Cape Coast Highway has left one woman dead and 19 others injured.
The crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday in front of the NDC Regional Office in Cape Coast.
The incident involved a stationary Man Diesel truck, registered WR 1546-V, which had reportedly broken down, and a Mercedes Sprinter bus, registration CR 623-25, heading towards Cape Coast.

Eyewitnesses said the Sprinter, while overtaking another vehicle, collided with the parked truck, trapping several passengers inside the bus.
Rescue teams from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), in coordination with the National Ambulance Service, freed three trapped victims.

Tragically, one woman was confirmed dead at the scene, while the remaining 18 injured passengers were rushed to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital for treatment.

The Ghana Police Service and the National Road Safety Authority assisted at the scene, managing traffic and ensuring safety.
Authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution, particularly when overtaking and approaching stalled vehicles on the highways.
