The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has issued a formal query to Bernice Aboagye, a member of staff, after she was allegedly captured in videos circulating on social media using “unprintable, inappropriate and scandalous” language directed at the Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh.
In an internal letter addressed to Ms Aboagye, the Service expressed serious concern about the content of the videos, which have generated widespread attention and backlash online.
According to the letter, the videos have been “discussed on various social media platforms,” attracting disparaging commentary from the public and raising concerns about the image of the Service.
The Service noted that several concerned citizens have contacted the office to register their “misgivings and reservations” over Ms Aboagye’s conduct, which is considered a breach of professional standards and decorum expected of public servants.
As a result, Ms Aboagye has been directed to respond to allegations of professional misconduct under the Ghana Health Service’s Code of Conduct and Disciplinary Procedures.
Specifically, she has been asked to explain why disciplinary action should not be taken against her for:
- Use of unacceptable and inappropriate language, amounting to rude behaviour towards the Minister of Health in violation of Section 8.1(c) of the Code.
- Use of abusive language against the Minister in breach of Section 8.1(l).
- Tarnishing the corporate image of the Service and bringing its reputation into disrepute contrary to Section 4.1(d).

A copy of the video clips in question was attached to the query for Ms Aboagye’s review, with a deadline set for her formal response by 24th October 2025.
While the GHS has not released an official public statement regarding the matter, the internal memo suggests that the Service is treating the issue with considerable seriousness, particularly given its potential impact on the credibility and public trust in the health sector.
