National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Berekum West, Dickson Kyere-Duah, has said the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) will suffer another defeat in the 2028 general elections, no matter who wins the party’s upcoming presidential primary.
Speaking on the JoyNews AM Show on Monday, October 13, Mr Kyere-Duah said the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC) is poised to retain power, and they are not perturbed by who wins the NPP primary.
"For me, all five candidates on the ballot paper for NPP, we in the NDC are not so much interested in who wins, because whoever wins is definitely going to taste a very bitter defeat in 2028," he claimed.
"It doesn't matter whether it is Kennedy Agyapong, Bawumia or whoever," he added.
The NPP is scheduled to hold its flagbearer election in January 2026, with five candidates contesting.
The five are former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former Education Minister, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, former Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, Bryan Acheampong, and the former NPP General Secretary, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong.
