The Ghana Education Service (GES) has clarified that it is not currently conducting any recruitment exercises, following recent speculation on social media and other platforms.
In a statement posted on Facebook, Mr Hasmin Mohammed, Press Secretary to the Minister of Education, explained that the recent financial clearance granted by Cabinet is solely intended to facilitate the payment of salaries for over 6,200 teachers recruited in 2024 whose financial clearance had expired.
“Please be advised that the Ghana Education Service is not currently conducting any recruitment exercises. The recent financial clearance received from Cabinet is specifically intended to facilitate the payment of salaries for over 6,200 teachers who were recruited in 2024 but had expired financial clearance,” Mr Mohammed stated.
He added that plans are underway for the recruitment of additional teaching and non-teaching staff, but assured the public that the official recruitment window will be announced in due course.
“The public will be duly informed when the official recruitment window opens,” he noted.
Mr Mohammed urged citizens to rely solely on official GES and Ministry of Education channels for accurate and verified information regarding recruitment and other related matters.
He also warned against engaging with individuals or groups claiming to facilitate recruitment, describing such activities as fraudulent.
“The public is further cautioned not to engage with individuals or groups claiming to facilitate recruitment into the Service, as such activities are fraudulent,” he emphasised.
The Ministry of Education and the GES reaffirmed their commitment to transparency and integrity in all recruitment processes, urging applicants to exercise caution and verify information before taking any action.
