Black Queens goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan has been named among the nominees for the Women's 11 at the 2025 The Best FIFA awards.
Konlan is among the three African goalkeepers who have been shortlisted in the goalkeeping category for the Team of the Year.
The shot-stopper had a great year helping the Black Queens to a third-place finish at the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) which was staged in Morocco.
The Samartex Ladies goalkeeper bailed her national team out in two of the three games they played in the knockout stages as they went on to claim a bronze medal in Morocco.
Konlan is the only Ghanaian with a nomination at the global awards.
Other Africans nominated include Chiamaka Nnadozie of Nigeria, Tanzania's Ngoy Mudimbi, Ghizlane Chebbak (Morocco), Ibtissam Jraidi (Morocco), Sanaa Mssoudy (Morocco), Barbra Banda of Zambia and Malawi's Temwa Chawinga.
