The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kwabre East, Joseph Amankwah, has pledged to donate four months of his salary to the Kwabre East Municipal football team if they emerge victorious in the upcoming Ashanti Regional Inter-District Soccer Competition.
He made this promise during the grand finale of the Inter-Community Soccer Competition held at the Asonomase Presby Park on Sunday, where players were selected to represent Kwabre East in the regional tournament.
According to Mr. Amankwah, the gesture is aimed at motivating the players and encouraging a strong sense of unity and determination ahead of the competition.
He urged the selected team to train hard, exhibit discipline, and make the municipality proud on the regional stage.
“I know how much I am paid and so that’s going to be kept safely for them,” he told Luv FM.
“They should go for the cup. They should go and bring the cup to Kwabre East and the very day they will bring the cup to the soil of Kwabre East, four months’ salary of me the MCE Amankwah is going to be given to them, presented to them as they’re bringing the cup to me.”
The Inter-District Soccer Competition, organized under the auspices of the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, seeks to promote youth development, sportsmanship, and community cohesion among the various districts in the region.
