Sixteen people were rescued by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) following a serious head-on collision at Nyamebekyere on Tuesday.
The accident involved a Ford Transit (AS 7172-23) and a Kia Rhino (AS 3058-X) on the Sunyani–Kumasi Highway. Firefighters from the Bechem Fire Station promptly responded to a distress call at 5:38 a.m. and were immediately dispatched to the scene.

An eight-member rescue team, led by STNO II Simon Yeboah, extricated all 16 occupants,14 from the Ford Transit and two from the Kia Rhino and transported them to Bechem Government Hospital and PISGAH Advanced Medical Centre for treatment.

Although the victims sustained varying degrees of injuries, no fatalities were reported.
Both vehicles were extensively damaged, and authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
