A chieftaincy dispute has erupted in Akyem Kwabeng in the Atiwa West District of the Eastern Region.
This has heightened tension in the community.
The Abusuapanin of the Asona Mmabaduam family, Baffour Oduro Frikyi, has appealed to President John Mahama, National Security, and the Member of Parliament to intervene to calm the situation.
"I am calling on President Mahama to intervene... If National security doesn't take steps to ensure peace prevails, and nothing is done, no member of Kwabeng must be blamed."
He is calling for adequate security protection to prevent further clashes among factions.

Community members are also calling for peace to avert any escalation.

They are appealing to authorities to take swift action to resolve the dispute and restore calm in Akyem Kwabeng.
