A Supreme Court Judge, Justice H.L. Akaa Boafo, has stressed the importance of pastors studying the 1992 Constitution and applying its provisions in their ministry to prevent clashes with the nation’s fundamental laws.
Justice Akaa Boafo, who also serves as a Deacon of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, made the call at the maiden edition of the Empowered Ministers Conference held in Kumasi. The event, hosted at the Light House Assembly of God, brought together about 1,200 pastors, their spouses, and leaders from the Ashanti North, Ashanti East, and Ashanti West Regions.

The conference covered a wide range of topics, including the church and the law, conflict resolution, branding for church growth, the role of travailing prayer, critical management skills for ministry success, church financial management, pastoral marriage and its impact on ministry, and the role of loyalty in organisational development.
The General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Yenusom Wengam, urged pastors to maintain professionalism, adopt best practices, and pursue excellence in all aspects of their work. He also encouraged church leaders to prioritise the welfare and socio-economic development of their members.

Other speakers at the conference included Rev. Tito Agyei, Assistant General Superintendent; Rev. Ernest Birikorang, General Secretary; and Rev. Simon Abu Baba, General Treasurer.
