Christmas cheer filled the maternity ward of the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital (CCTH) as MTN Ghana extended love and support to 25 babies born on Christmas Day, December 25, 2025, with the donation of hampers.
The gesture, which formed part of MTN Ghana’s corporate social responsibility, brought smiles to the new mothers.
Each hamper contained essential baby care items, including diapers, baby powder, pomade, bathing soap, towels and other necessities for newborns.
The Central and Western regional manager in charge human resources at MTN, Regina Arkaifie, said the initiative was inspired by the company’s desire to share joy while making a meaningful social impact, particularly in the health sector.
“Christmas is a season of love, hope and giving, and as a company that is deeply rooted in the communities we serve, MTN believed it was important to extend that love to mothers and babies who share this special day with the nation,” she said.
She said the donation formed part of MTN Ghana’s annual Christmas outreach, reinforcing the company’s commitment to community support, compassionate service and national development.
The Deputy Nursing Officer at CCTH, Veronica Koomson expressed appreciation to MTN Ghana, noting that some mothers reported to the hospital for delivery without basic items.
Vida Obosu, who gave birth to a baby girl, described the gesture as a “Christmas blessing,” while Salamatu Nuhu, also a mother to a baby girl, said the items would greatly ease the early days of childcare.
