The Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Godwin Edudzi Tamekloe, has said the Authority envisions an innovative, sustainable, and efficient downstream petroleum sector.
According to him, this forms part of NPA's contribution to sustainable development in the country.
He said, "On our part, at the National Petroleum Authority, we envision a downstream petroleum sector that is innovative, efficient and sustainable in line with the president's vision to reset and transform the sector."
Mr Tamekloe said this at the University of Ghana’s 77th Annual New Year School and Conference (ANYSC) on Tuesday, January 6.
According to him, since assuming office, the NPA has initiated a series of activities aimed at boosting the sector. "Since assuming office as the Chief Executive Officer, I have emphasised the importance of affordability, quality, and reliability in the supply of petroleum products to Ghanaians," he said.
He emphasised the importance of reforms and policies designed to ensure quality fuel supply and long-term sector growth. "
"Our commitment is to ensure fair pricing and strict adherence to industry standards," he added.
The NPA boss reiterated that the success of these initiatives requires collaboration across both public and private institutions to fully realise the objectives of the reset agenda.
