One person has been confirmed dead following a road traffic accident at Anyaa Market in the Greater Accra Region, despite a swift response by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
The Anyaa Fire Station responded to a distress call received at 9:44 a.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, arriving at the scene within five minutes. The crash occurred near the traffic lights at the Anyaa Market stretch and involved a rear-end collision between a motorcycle and a Man diesel truck.
The impact caused partial damage to the motorcycle and the front section of the truck. A male victim, believed to be the rider of the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was subsequently handed over to the Police for the necessary procedures.

Fire Service personnel secured the area to prevent secondary incidents and worked in coordination with the Police and the Ambulance Service to manage the situation safely. Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
The update was issued on Wednesday, January 14, by the Public Relations Officer of the GNFS in the Greater Accra Region.
