Stephen Amoah, Member of Parliament for Nyiaeso and a campaign team member for Kennedy Agyapong, has stated that he will not be lackadaisical in his commitment to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) despite his camp’s loss in the recent flagbearer election.
Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show when asked about his political direction going forward, Mr Amoah said the outcome of the polls would not make him withdraw or reduce his efforts within the party.
He stressed that whether or not he is given another opportunity in the party, he remains committed to working diligently for its progress.
He noted that his dedication to the NPP is deeply rooted, recalling that he has consistently played his role over the years, just as his grandparents did in building and sustaining the party.
According to him, this legacy leaves him with no option but to remain active and engaged.
"Once the opportunity is there, why not? Even if there is no opportunity, I think the fraternity NPP is my party; we all worked so hard. Some of us our great grandfathers suffered to the point of being imprisoned. There is no way I will put up a lackadaisical attitude because my team did not win," he said.
Mr Amoah said he is determined to contribute meaningfully to rebuilding and strengthening the party, with the goal of securing victory in the 2028 general elections.
He then called on the party to "accord the team and the party that respect that we all need so that people will be motivated to work so hard to bring victory to the party, and so I think that at all times, NPP is better than NDC."
