Entrepreneur Kwame Sowu Jnr has urged Ghanaians to prioritise commercial activities over social engagements as a pathway to wealth creation.
Speaking on Joy FM on Tuesday, he noted that many people spend excessive time on social activities rather than ventures that can generate income.
Kwame Sowu made the remarks during a discussion on achieving financial freedom and building businesses under the theme “From Scarcity to Abundance in the Digital Age.”
"I think that we have invested and spent time on social rather than commercial. We spend too much time on social interests," he said.
"We must begin to look at the things elsewhere; how do things work (there)? We must begin to move away from just what we consume and begin to think about revenue and how wealth will be created, and that has to be intentional," he added.
He argued that this can be incorporated into the country's educational system, explaining that "it (wealth) won't come naturally. It ought to be taught, for instance, that you go to the university, you do your project work, and then you go out to do your national service, and that is the end of your project."
He suggested that national service placements should align with a graduate’s project work, rather than assigning them to unrelated organisations.
Mr Sowu Jnr. emphasized that even small investments, if strategically directed, can grow into sustainable sources of income, empowering individuals to attain financial independence.
