Twelve passengers are in critical condition following a three-vehicle accident at Gomoa Amenfi on the Winneba–Mankessim Highway.
The crash involved a Toyota Voxy passenger vehicle with registration number GN 9883-25, a Nissan Altima with registration number GW 1895-09, and a Hyundai Elantra saloon car with registration number GR 1972-15.

According to information gathered, the Toyota Voxy, which was conveying passengers from Kasoa to Cape Coast, attempted a wrongful overtaking and collided head-on with the Nissan Altima travelling in the opposite direction.
Following the impact, the Hyundai Elantra also rammed into the Toyota Voxy.

Eight passengers aboard the Toyota Voxy sustained critical injuries, while four occupants of the Nissan Altima were also seriously injured, bringing the total number of casualties to twelve.

All the injured persons were rushed to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital for emergency medical treatment.
Personnel from the Winneba Police and the Ghana National Fire Service from Apam responded to the scene and worked to clear the road to ease traffic congestion.
Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
