A lifeless body of a woman has been discovered at the lakeside in Yeji.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, pending notification of her next of kin.
According to eyewitnesses, a group of people visiting the river spotted the body on the shore and immediately alerted the authorities.
“We are treating this as a sudden death and will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death,” said Dua Sandra, the NADMO District Director, adding that investigations are ongoing.
The woman, believed to be in her mid-30s, was reportedly wearing a black gown.
Police, in collaboration with NADMO officials and the Navy, have conveyed the body to St. Mathias Hospital for further examination and investigation.
