The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Dr John Abdulai Jinapor, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring a stable and dependable electricity supply to support Ghana’s manufacturing and industrial sectors.
In a social media post on Tuesday, the Minister disclosed that he had held a meeting with bulk electricity users drawn from the manufacturing and industrial community as part of his ongoing efforts to engage power consumers directly and better understand their concerns.
Dr Jinapor noted that the engagement brought together key stakeholders within the power sector, including officials from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo), the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC), the Energy Commission, the Volta River Authority (VRA) and the Bui Power Authority (BPA).

According to him, the discussions provided an opportunity for industry leaders to raise concerns relating to power supply and operational challenges.

He said the government listened attentively to the issues presented and assured participants of its readiness to work collaboratively to resolve them.

“A strong industrial sector depends on consistent and reliable electricity,” the Minister stated, adding that government remains fully committed to delivering the dependable power required to drive productivity, growth and national development.
