Relationship counsellor Cyril George Lutterodt, popularly known as Counsellor Lutterodt, is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, 11 March 2026, following his arrest over remarks that allegedly risked inciting public unrest.
Reports indicate that Lutterodt urged Ga youth to exhume the body of the late highlife musician Daddy Lumba from his East Legon residence, claiming that burying him at what he described as an unauthorised location on Ga land disrespected local customs and authorities.
He reportedly called for immediate corrective action if proper cultural protocols were not observed.
The comments sparked widespread condemnation on social media and among members of the public, with critics describing them as insensitive and potentially inflammatory.
Following the circulation of a video of his remarks, the Ghana Police Service swiftly took Lutterodt into custody for questioning as part of ongoing investigations.

He has been charged with offensive conduct conducive to a breach of the peace under Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29), and is expected to face an additional charge of inciting violence under the Criminal Offences Act and the Public Order Act, 1994 (Act 491).
