The eighth edition of Joy FM's flagship creative industry conversation, Showbiz Roundtable, will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
This edition of Showbiz Roundtable will take a look at ‘Preserving highlife as Ghana’s cultural heritage.’ Highlife, which is 100 years old, has been inscribed by UNESCO as part of Ghana’s intangible cultural heritage. However, questions remain about whether the genre has been sufficiently projected and fully explored.
The programme will air live on Joy 99.7 FM and on Joy Prime television as part of the station’s Ghana Month activities.
The panel will feature Professor John Collins, ethnomusicologist; Amandzeba, highlife musician; Kofi Boachie-Ansah, also known as Beatmenace, audio engineer; Adina, highlife musician; Bessa Simons, President of MUSIGA; and Jonas Bibi Hammond, a veteran music producer.
The keynote address will be delivered by the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Maame Efua Houadjeto.
Other special guests are Daddy Bosco, the officer in charge of projects at MUSIGA and UNESCO National Professional Officer for Culture, Carl Ampah.
The show will include a live studio audience made up of musicians, journalists, music producers, music executives and other creative industry stakeholders.
Showbiz Roundtable is brought to you by the 2025 GJA Awards Entertainment Programme of the Year, Showbiz A-Z, powered by Joy Entertainment with support from Joy Prime.
It will be moderated by arts and culture journalist Kwame Dadzie and emceed by Noella Karyne Yalley.
Showbiz Roundtable is produced by Philip Nai, Anita Teye and Martin Kwasi Asare.
