The Ghana Police Service has confirmed that the Asokwa Circuit Court 1 has remanded Patricia Osei Boateng, also known as Boatema, into police custody over her alleged role in the Duku syndicate robbery at Ohwim Tigo Junction.

The decision was taken on March 16, as investigations into the criminal network continue.

Boateng has been charged with abetment of crime, specifically robbery, and is expected to reappear before the court on March 24.

During proceedings, her lawyer, Richard Acquah, appealed for bail, but prosecutors strongly opposed the request.

Presiding judge Fred Obikyere declined to take her plea and ordered that she remain in custody pending further investigations.

Police earlier secured the remand of two key suspects, Kojo Amposah and Emmanuel Kwame Appiah, who were arraigned before the same court on March 11.

Both individuals have been charged with robbery and are scheduled to reappear on March 26 as authorities intensify efforts to unravel the full scope of the syndicate’s operations.

Another suspect, Bashiru Tanko, remains in custody and is assisting police with investigations into multiple offences, including car snatching and robbery.

According to police sources, “the network appears to be extensive, and investigations are ongoing to identify all accomplices and recover stolen assets.”

The case stems from a violent robbery incident at Ohwim Amanfrom on February 10, 2026, during which Andrews Amankwaa was fatally shot and his Toyota Hilux vehicle stolen. Police say the dismantling of the syndicate marks a major breakthrough.

“We remain committed to ensuring justice for the victim and safeguarding the public,” a police statement noted, adding that updates will be provided as the case progresses.
