The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised Ghanaians travelling to Senegal to take precautionary health measures, including recommended vaccinations, to ensure their safety.
In a statement issued on March 26, the Ministry said Senegalese authorities have indicated that vaccination against certain communicable diseases, particularly yellow fever, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus (DPT), measles, and hepatitis A and B, is strongly advised for travellers.
However, it clarified that vaccination certificates for these diseases are not mandatory for entry into Senegal.
"Ghanaian travellers are, nonetheless, encouraged to consult healthcare providers for their routine vaccinations prior to travel, in order to safeguard their health while abroad," the Ministry said.
The Ministry reaffirms its commitment to providing timely information to ensure the safety, welfare and well-being of Ghanaian citizens travelling outside the country.
