Manhyia South Member of Parliament Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah has thanked Ghanaians, the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), his parliamentary colleagues, family and supporters for the solidarity shown to him following his detention by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
In a Facebook post on Saturday, October 3, Nana Baffour Awuah said he was “deeply grateful for the overwhelming support, prayers and solidarity” shown to him.
He also expressed appreciation to Ghanaians who, he said, had “seen through the Government’s propaganda and stood firmly with me.”
The MP specifically thanked NPP flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, his fellow Members of Parliament, the party’s leadership and entire membership, as well as his family, friends and sympathisers.
His message follows his appearance before court in connection with the ongoing EOCO investigation.
Nana Baffour Awuah has been granted GH¢10 million bail with two sureties after pleading not guilty to three charges brought against him by EOCO. The sureties are the Member of Parliament for Bosome Freho and the Member of Parliament for Effia.
He denied charges of conspiracy to commit a crime and dissipation of public funds, intentionally causing financial loss to the state and money laundering, including an allegation that he facilitated the transfer of GH¢1 million to the then Managing Director of SIC Life in 2024.
