The Member of Parliament for Tano North, Dr Gideon Boako, has launched a Career Guidance Programme aimed at supporting Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates across the constituency, as they prepare for this year’s exams.
The initiative, undertaken in collaboration with the Education Directorate and other key stakeholders, seeks to equip students with the motivation and direction needed to excel academically and make informed career choices.
According to Dr Boako, the first day of the programme, held in the Duayaw Nkwanta Zone, was both inspiring and impactful, as hundreds of candidates actively participated in the engagement.

He noted that the session created an opportunity to interact directly with the students, offering guidance on examination preparation, discipline, and future career paths.
“We engaged our young brothers and sisters in what I can only describe as an inspiring and impactful session,” he stated in a Facebook post on Thursday, April 2.

“It was refreshing to see their enthusiasm and readiness to learn as they prepare for a very important stage of their academic journey.”
As part of efforts to support the candidates, the Tano North MP also facilitated the distribution of mathematical sets to some of the 2,200 students in the zone.

He described the gesture as a token of his commitment to their success, emphasising the importance of ensuring that no student is disadvantaged during the examinations due to lack of basic materials.
Dr Boako further announced that the programme will continue in Bomaa, with the second day scheduled to begin at 10:00am.
He called on stakeholders, parents, and community members to support the initiative, stressing that collective effort is key to nurturing the next generation of leaders in the constituency.
