The Ghana Railway Development Authority’s DMU 002 train has been repaired following a collision with a goat shortly after departing Ashaiman Station on July 31, 2026.
The incident damaged the lower front section of the train, which was carrying about 150 passengers at the time. No injuries were recorded among the passengers.
V-Rail, responsible for the repairs, has since completed the work on the affected section of the train, restoring DMU 002 to operational condition.

The incident highlights the potential risks posed to railway operations by animals straying onto or near railway tracks and the importance of maintaining safe corridors along railway routes.
