Two houses were allegedly torched last night by unknown assailants in what many believe to be a reprisal for Wednesday’s deadly attack.
No casualty has been recorded yet in the latest incident of insecurity in one of the populous towns in the Brong Ahafo Region. Wednesday’s incident claimed five lives and injured several others.
Gaskia FM’s reporter Anas sabit told Joy News Thursday’s attack happened around 11pm.
This is happening when all thought calm had returned to the town following the heavy deployment of military cum police personnel there.
A woman whose house was burnt told Sabit she found the house on fire at midnight and had to rush out with her weak grandmother as they shouted for help.
The district and regional police commanders were locked up this morning in a crunch meeting with security personnel and authorities in the area.
Meanwhile, Deputy Interior Minister, James Agalga says a manhunt has begun for gunmen who launched violent attacks on Tuobodom residents.
Some have linked the attack to chieftaincy issues in the area but the Deputy Interior Minister has described that conclusion as premature.
The Brong Ahafo regional police commander, DCOP Maxwell Atindane says nothing is being left to chance to ensure protection of life and property in the town.
Meanwhile more officers are being deployed to the town to ensure calm.
