The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has temporarily closed the Kotokuom Bridge in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region.
According to the Minister, the bridge, which connects several farming communities in the district, must remain closed until necessary repair works are completed.

He explained, "Its deteriorating condition presents a significant risk to motorists, particularly farmers transporting their produce from Kotokuom and surrounding agricultural areas to urban centres."

"As the sector Minister, I have directed the immediate closure of the bridge, and repairs are scheduled to begin by Friday," he added after touring some road projects in the Ashanti region on Monday, March 3.

The Ashanti Regional Security Council has advised motorists to use alternative routes during the repair period.
