The Ghana Highway Authority (GHA) has initiated the demolition of tollbooths on the Accra-Tema motorway in an effort to enhance traffic flow and mitigate the risk of road accidents.
This action follows public outcry regarding the deplorable condition of the road, which has tragically resulted in the loss of lives.

Out of the eight booths, two are currently undergoing demolition as of this morning, September 14.
The process began at the Accra tollbooth and is currently in progress at the Tema tollbooth.
