National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has accused President Akufo-Addo of nepotism and dishonesty.
He says the NPP flagbearer has performed contrary to his 2016 campaign promises, especially in areas where the party had alleged while in opposition, that the erstwhile President, John Mahama had failed to deliver.
The NDC Chairman was addressing claims that the party sought to score political points from the demise of its founder, the late former President Jerry John Rawlings, with its Monday, November 30, ‘Probity and Accountability’ march.
He maintains that in addition to highlighting the ideals upon which the party was founded, the exercise was to bring to the fore, corrupt undertakings of the incumbent NPP government.
"We had to remind ourselves that if we needed honest leadership, then of course we must hold him accountable for what he promised Ghanaians, to which he is doing the opposite. And he is coming again with sweet promises, so we needed to expose him for what he really is, and to tell Ghanaians that Nana Akufo-Addo cannot be trusted,” he told Joy News.
Mr. Ofosu-Amposu further condemned the Akufo-Addo-led administration for laying claims to ghost projects and others that were begun by the NDC in 2016.
According to him, residents nationwide have denied knowledge of NPP's projects such as 'One district, One factory' and the 'One million dollars per constituency" initiative, and hence deserve to be told the truth.
