The people of Amantena, a community in the Asante Akyem North Municipality of the Ashanti region, have staged a demonstration against any form of mining in the area.
The residents say they are united to stand against the destruction of their land, water, and environment, which are crucial to their livelihoods.

Mining has been a contentious issue in the area, with the local communities suffering the devastating impacts of environmental degradation and health problems.
Clad in red and wielding placards to stage the protest, the residents expressed their determination to protect their communities and preserve their way of life.
They urged the authorities, especially the Municipal Chief Executive and the Member of Parliament, to listen to their concerns and take immediate action to prevent mining in the area.
