The Ashanti Region has traditionally been the New Patriotic Party's stronghold, where it garners the majority of its votes.
The Director of Communications and Spokesperson for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia's campaign is confident that this will work in their favour once again.
"Ashanti Region will always show up for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and it will not disappoint the party," Miracles Aboagye told Evans Mensah on PM Express on Wednesday.
Highlighting the importance of the region's support, he emphasized that the NPP's success in the upcoming December election relies heavily on the steadfast backing of the Ashanti Region.
"We will put in the work, energy, and effort," Mr Aboagye declared.
"We are working together with the Ashanti Region to ensure that we will show up when the people need the NPP the most."
Aboagye highlighted the party's commitment to meeting the needs of the Ashanti Region, recognizing the critical role it plays in the party's electoral success.
"We understand that politics and governance are all about what the people need. And so we are putting in all the efforts to ensure that critically we can be there for the Ashanti Region and show our scorecard, so they will also show up for us."
Reflecting on Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s recent tour, Aboagye noted that the Ashanti Region remains a top priority.
"Of all the regions visited during Dr Bawumia’s tour, it was clear that the region is part of the top three we have to prioritise to win."
The NPP is counting on the massive support and votes it consistently receives from the Ashanti Region for a decisive victory.
Mr Aboagye lauded Dr Bawumia's relentless campaign efforts, stating, "It will be difficult for anybody to deny that amongst all the presidential candidates today, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has been the most hardworking, the one that has put in a lot of efforts and energy although he came in quite late."
Despite starting his campaign only six or seven weeks ago, Dr Bawumia's dedication is evident.
"We're definitely going to increase the pace and tempo because we believe that when the Ashanti Region shows up for the NPP, we will win the election and we're not taking it for granted. We're not resting on that," he added.
Miracles Aboagye was emphatic about the party's strategy moving forward.
"We're not laying back on that, but we're going to also step forward and make sure that we are there for the people and they are also there for us."
