Earlier in the day, the NDC’s national leadership issued a statement condemning what it described as widespread incidents of bribery and inducement at some polling centres and announced the immediate launch of investigations into the allegations.
In the statement signed by the party’s General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the party said it would take swift disciplinary action against any candidate found culpable and warned that future occurrences could attract drastic sanctions, including the possible cancellation of elections.

Despite the controversies, voting proceeded under tight supervision by party officials and security personnel, with delegates turning out to cast their ballots.
Baba Jamal’s victory positions him as the NDC’s parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso East by-election, a key contest in the Greater Accra Region, as the party seeks to retain the seat.
The NDC has reiterated its commitment to protecting the integrity of its internal democratic processes and ensuring that all aspirants adhere strictly to party rules and electoral guidelines.
