The Bawumia for President 2024 Campaign has emphasised Dr Mahamudu Bawumia's integrity, discipline, focus, ideas, and solutions, contrasting them with the record of former President John Dramani Mahama during his tenure as Vice President and President.
In a press statement signed by Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the Director of Communications for the campaign, it was asserted that Dr Bawumia has consistently adhered to the highest standards of discipline and integrity since the assumption of office by the Akufo-Addo government in 2017.
Mr Aboagye stressed that these qualities are crucial for Ghana's next president, implying that Mr Mahama lacks them.
The campaign spokesman urged Ghanaians to disregard Mahama's bid for reelection as President, suggesting that Mahama squandered his opportunity during his presidency due to incompetence and corruption.
According to the campaign's perspective, Dr Bawumia represents a stark contrast to Mr Mahama, with a track record of diligence and ethical conduct.
They argue that Bawumia's disciplined approach to governance and his focus on delivering solutions make him the ideal candidate for leading Ghana forward.
“As Ghana moves into the next phase of our development, it is more important than ever to elect a leader that holds himself to the highest standards, a man of character, performance, work ethic, vision, programmes, wisdom, decisiveness, self-discipline, integrity, and a very high credibility. It’s indisputable that in this regard, Dr. Bawumia emerges as the most formidable candidate.
“Dr. Bawumia has shown in these eight years that he has more integrity, discipline, focus, ideas, and solutions than his main opponent showed in his eight years as Vice President and President.”
Dr Bawumia is set to launch his political campaign today, Monday, April 29, in preparation for the December general elections.
Starting in the Eastern Region, the campaign will span across all 16 regions over the next month.
During his tour, Dr. Bawumia intends to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including traditional leaders, clergy, youth groups, traders, drivers, farmers, students, and business owners.
The campaign will focus on interacting with citizens from various sectors of society, with visits to marketplaces aimed at engaging both traders and consumers.
