Former Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer aspirant, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, says his four-month nationwide campaign tour has ended on a high note following what he described as an “electrifying reception” from party delegates in the Ashanti Region.

In a post shared on social media on Wednesday, January 28, Dr. Bawumia said his final engagements in Sekyere Afram Plains, Kumawu, Efiduase and Manhyia North constituencies marked the climax of his tour of the region and the conclusion of his nationwide outreach to party members.

According to him, the engagements across the country provided a valuable opportunity to present his progressive ideas while also gaining deeper insight into the concerns of party faithful, which he pledged to address through the proposals he has outlined during the campaign.

Dr. Bawumia expressed gratitude to party stakeholders nationwide for the support, encouragement and endorsements he received throughout the four-month tour, noting that the confidence reposed in him would not be taken for granted.

With the NPP presidential primaries just days away, the former Vice President urged party members to remain focused and continue working hard until victory is declared.
“We are three days away from victory,” he said, calling on delegates to rally behind his campaign to rebuild the party and position it for success in the 2028 general elections.

Dr. Bawumia is one of the five contenders in the NPP’s flagbearer race, with the party set to choose its presidential candidate on Saturday, January 31.
