Nana Asaase, the poet, has spoken about his versatility in the poetry and creative art industry, highlighting other areas in which he is equally involved.
He says apart from being a poet, he’s into media productions, teaching, literary coaching, and also cultural consultancy.
In a one-on-one interview on Joy Prime’s Celeb Biz, he said “When I’m not doing poetry, sometimes I get the chance to shoot documentaries for those who would like us to do this; I do voiceovers, I do subtitling, I do localisation of content, I proofread, I edit, I teach, and so on.”
During the conversation, he delved into the deeper layers of his poetic philosophy, saying that “beyond poetry, I do poetry,” because he thinks poetry is part of our daily activities.
Explaining his thought-provoking statement, he expressed his belief that poetry is not confined to written verses alone. He views life itself as a poetic canvas, where every action, emotion, and experience contributes to an ongoing narrative.
The poet further affirmed his willingness to teach anyone who wants to acquire knowledge about the craft of poetry. He disclosed how he organises workshops, travels around the world, and avails himself to teach and guide individuals who are willing to learn.
“I organise creative writing workshops; I am sometimes invited to other countries to facilitate workshops or be part of festivals, performances, consultations, or research”.
Nana Asaase also touched on the poet’s ability to speak diverse languages, explaining that he deals with a lot of people with different backgrounds and different languages; therefore, he has to be versatile in speaking.
