The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu is disgusted with violent conduct of some political actors whose activities continue to mar the largely peaceful ongoing voters' registration exercise.
Speaking ahead of the Eid-Ul-Adha celebrations, he stated that it is essential Ghanaians, particularly the politicians, do not to take the peace the nation has enjoyed over the years for granted.
"This is the only country that we have and so I want to appeal to all politicians to understand that we do politics as a means to seek public office so we can render services to our country. We seek power to rule the people not to destroy the people'' he added.
The National Chief Imam who spoke through his spokesperson Sheikh Aremeyawo described as "sad", the gun firing and stabbing incidents that have been recorded at some voter registration centres.
With the ongoing exercise getting into it's final phase, a call has also been made by the leader of the Muslim community in Ghana to take responsibility and not to allow 'any blood to spill on the ground of our land just in the name of politics'.
He rounded up by warning that if "we allow the peace to slip, then we'll get ourselves in a situation that will not be good for us."
