Just three months after listing their pair of New York City penthouses, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have found a buyer for their full asking price of $18 million, according to the New York Post. Located in Nolita’s landmarked Brewster Carriage Building, the two units combine modern luxury with a 19th century legacy.

Teigen and Legend bought the units separately—the first in 2018 for $9.02 million and the second for $7.7 million in 2020—with the intention of combining them, and though they never got around to it, the pair was sold as a package with a proposed renovation plan included for the buyer.
The penthouses combine for 6,100 square feet, plus the entire rooftop space which rings in at 3,300 square feet. As it stands right now, the interiors are industrial yet sophisticated, with metal staircases, wood paneled walls in select areas, and plenty of exposed brick. The outdoor space is entirely landscaped with tall grasses and hedges which are maintained by a custom irrigation system.

“We’ve realized that because of work and everything, we’re really mostly going to be in Los Angeles, so we’re going to focus our home-building energy and renovation energy on what we’re doing in L.A.,” Legend explained to the Wall Street Journal in January, when he and his young family (he and Teigen share daughter Luna, 6, and son Miles, 3) decided to sell.
“We love being there. But we’re just not there enough to justify putting in the time and energy to combine apartments.”
According to WSJ, the Cravings founder and EGOT winner hope to purchase a New York property that can serve their needs without a full scale renovation. Previously, the couple owned another Manhattan apartment which they decorated with Don Stewart of Desiderata Design and which AD toured.
