Children in Kwanyaku and Kwesitwikrom in the Agona East district are paying the hidden price of illegal mining miles away from their town.
The Ayensu River, once their lifeline, is now brown and polluted as a result of galamsey activities.
This has forced families to risk illness just to fetch water from it.
