Hearts of Oak defender, Kelvin Asibey, says the team hopes to win the upcoming game against Asante Kotoko to get the fans behind them once again.
Hearts and Kotoko face each other in the maiden edition of the Democracy Cup on Wednesday, July 17, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
It will be the third meeting between Hearts and Kotoko with the latter winning the earlier two encounters in the Ghana Premier League.
Knowing the importance of the meetings between the two teams, Asibey is hoping the fans can smile again.
"When you talk about Hearts of Oak, it's about the supporters. They are the ones who make the club," Asibey said.
"This season, Kotoko have beaten us twice; back-to-back. What we can do to apologise to the fans is to win this trophy."
Before the game between Hearts and Kotoko, there will be a curtain-raiser between a Parliament select against former Black Stars players.
The winner of the game between Kotoko and Heart will get the opportunity to face MLS side DC United.
