Health and wellness ambassador and CEO of Simply Green, Mariama Abubakari has revealed that it takes 7 to 8 years for doctors to detect autoimmune diseases in patients.
Growing up, she stated that she endured a slew of health issues and recognized that she wasn't as vivacious and energetic as her siblings. Doctors discovered she had autoimmune disorders after repeated visits to the hospital, but they couldn't determine which type.
Speaking to Asieduwaa Akumia on Prime Morning Monday, the CEO explained that there are eighty different types of autoimmune diseases that are difficult to detect until they are fully blown.
This is because the symptoms in the beginning stages are mild but increase along the line, hence the reason doctors take 7 to 8 years to detect the specific autoimmune disease a person may be suffering from.
"The funny thing is, with autoimmune diseases, they are not able to know until it blows out. So what it does is give you a series of symptoms, and over the years, the symptoms will increase. Your doctors will try to treat the symptoms that are coming through, but they won’t know until they are fully blown out. It takes the doctors 7 to 8 years to be able to tell you what type of disease your body is going through," she said.
Mariama further revealed that she had to resign from her job due to the severity of her symptoms. After visiting the hospital several times, she finally decided to turn to her grandmother's natural recipes, which after some time became her saving grace as her visits to the doctors decreased drastically.
"After resigning, I devoted some time to go back to my grandmother’s recipe, and in just about a year, I started seeing my health improving. So once I resigned and went back to the recipes, I started turning it into a business, which was doing very well," she explained.
She realised shortly after using her grandmother’s recipes how much it can go a long way toward helping others facing similar health challenges. Mariama, hungry to help people eat healthier to enrich their health, decided to start her business, Simply Green.
The CEO emphasised the fact that though healthy eating is very expensive, especially with the current economic challenges, people suffering from autoimmune disease should invest in it as it does not only help boost the immune system but also guarantees them good health and helps speed up the healing process, which is a better remedy than visiting the hospital.
She further encouraged people battling autoimmune diseases to opt for natural remedies that are healthy as soon as the symptoms begin to show so they do not escalate.
She also advised affected people to consult her for ways to cope with and fight the disease through healthy eating.
