Daniel Mckorley, CEO of McDan Group of Companies, Capt Rtd. Prince Kofi Amoabeng, and other notable speakers will be featured at the 9th edition of the ‘What I Wish I Knew’ (WIWIK) Conference, scheduled for Friday, July 21, 2023.
The conference will take place at the R.S.Amegashie Auditorium, located in the University of Ghana Business School in Accra.
The theme of the conference is "Thriving in Uncertainty: A conversation on intrapreneurship and entrepreneurship." participants will be provided with a toolkit of simple, practical, evidence-based techniques that participants can apply in their intrapreneurship or entrepreneurship journey in these challenging times.
As an annual event, the WIWIK Conference has become one of the largest personal development conferences on university campuses.
Its primary aim is to educate, advise, and inspire final year undergraduate students. Distinguished panelists for this edition include John Dumelo (Farmer & Politician), Capt Rtd. Prince Kofi Amoabeng (President, UT Holdings), Dr. Dennis Oteng (CEO, Ravens Consulting Gh), Prof. Carol Javis (Professor in Knowledge Exchange and Innovation, Bristol Business School – UK), Doris Ahiati (CEO, Crescendo Consult) and Audrey Naa Dei Kotey, FCCA, Esq.
In addition to the panel discussions, there will be a fireside chat featuring Daniel Mckorley, CEO of McDan Group of Companies, which will be moderated by Kafui Dey.
Both Mckorley and Capt. Rtd. Prince Kofi Amoabeng will share insights from their entrepreneurial journeys and offer their thoughts on the conference theme.
Dr. Bernard Tawiah, the convener, explained that the focus of this year's conference is to cultivate an intrapreneurial mindset among soon-to-be graduates.
This mindset emphasizes curiosity, a passion for learning, and a willingness to take risks and innovate.
Furthermore, accomplished and emerging entrepreneurs will share their personal entrepreneurial journeys, highlighting how they have successfully scaled their businesses despite uncertainties.
Participants will also receive actionable recommendations on how to launch their business ideas.
The keynote address will be delivered by Hannah Ashiokai Akrong, the Human Resources Director. The conference will also provide attendees with networking opportunities and encourage self-reflection.
The WIWIK Conference is organized by the WIWIK Foundation, a non-profit organization, in collaboration with the University of Ghana Business School, the Graduate Students Association of Ghana (GRASAG), and Crescendo Consult.
