The Central Regional Power Queens Club of the Electricity Company of Ghana has made donations to the Otwekodua Basic School in Otwekrom in the Twifo Atti-Mokwaa District of the Central Region.

The donation includes desks, books, stationery items and bags of cement. The school building has been in a dilapidated state making academic activities very difficult, according to school authorities.

Eva Adjei, President of the Power Queens Club, stated that the donation formed part of the club’s corporate social responsibility and was initiated by their General Manager, Ing. Emmanuel Ankomah.

Eva Adjei said the decision to donate to the school was an inspiration that came after a survey of various deprived schools in different districts in the region.

“As part of our corporate social responsibility, we are here to donate some things to the school, Otwekodua Basic School. This plan was initiated by our GM, Ing. Ankomah Emmanuel. There were many schools we surveyed, but after we saw the children of this school, the school’s structure, even the teachers and parents of the children, we were inspired so much that we had to go and quickly come back,” she stated.
