Ghana’s largest indigenous Oil Marketing Company, GOIL, has provided potable water for the chiefs and people of Apeguso in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region.
This was done as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility programmes for the year 2012.
Commissioning the borehole and pump at Apeguso on Thursday December 28, 2012, Mr. Patrick Akorli who is the Managing Director of GOIL said: “…Our Corporate Social Responsibility programmes are tailored to benefit and meet the needs of the people of Ghana”.
“GOIL has chosen to focus on provision of water to communities where potable water is hard to come by. The company, together with Soroptimists International Club teamed up to provide potable water for two other deprived communities, Korleman and Manchie, in the Ga West Municipal area”, Mr. Akorli added.
The Amankrado of Apeguso, Dede Akwei and his elders who were thrilled by the kind gesture thanked GOIL for their support and urged other corporate bodies to emulate the example.
Other officials of GOIL who took part in the commissioning included: Mr. Ofori Sarkwa, Finance Manager, Mr. Cyril Opon, Corporate Affairs Manager, Mrs. Anne Judith Agbodo, Zonal Manager, Tema.
