Fire this afternoon razed down a number of stalls on the Tamale Polytechnic campus.
The blaze, which started around 2pm, lasted about two hours and completely burnt some 8 stalls around the Polytechnic market.
Eyewitnesses say items including photocopiers, computers and scanners were destroyed in the blaze as it is unclear what may have triggered the fire, but an eyewitness, Mohammed Zubrim, told JoyNews that the intervention of firefighters prevented the fire from spreading.
Meanwhile, officials of the Fire Service have not been available for comment on the issue.
