Drugs and several properties worth millions of cedis were destroyed after a rainstorm wrecked the Tain District Health Directorate in the Bono Region.
The rainstorm, which also flooded some households within the district capital, Nsawkaw, occurred on Monday.
In an interview with Adom News, a public health nurse, Philip Appiah said the last time the facility got severely flooded was about three years ago.
He explained that since the facility is located between a choked gutter and River Nyinpine, excess water always finds its way into the building when the gutter overflows.
A nutritional nurse, Maybel Annor added that the rain started at about 10:00pm and lasted for hours. According to her, the flood water took over all their rooms and destroyed their personal belongings as well as other items including drugs.
They are therefore calling on the government to come to their rescue as soon as possible.
