A former DCE of Bimbilla, Mr Salifu Saeed has called on the government, NGOs, the people of Bimbilla inside and outside the area to collectively work for lasting peace in the area.
Speaking to the media on current happenings in the area which has led to 13 confirmed deaths and loss of properties, Mr Saeed said it was unfortunate that these killings happened in the holy month of Ramadan.
"We are all same people and there can not be a winner in a battle of brothers," he added.
According to the former DCE, the people who are mostly farmers are now indoors and afraid to go to their farms as a result of the current crisis.
The situation, Mr Saeed fears can lead to famine in the area if urgent solution is not found to the crisis.
"We must all compromise and cooperate with each other for the sake of our own people," he added.
The former DCE explained, "we need peace to farm, we need peace for our children to go to school, we need peace for our women to go about their businesses."
The Northern regional town went up in flames last week after butchers resisted an ban on them by the chief of the town.
Gunshots rung through the town and bodies were later discovered from farms and other obscure parts of the town.
Mr. Saeed said the situation could get worse unless the government takes urgent steps to bring the warring factions together.
