Founder of Forty Under 40 Africa, Richard Abbey Jnr, has paid a courtesy call on the Ga Mantse, His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, ahead of the 5th edition of the Forty Under 40 Africa Awards, formally presenting the Africa Trophy to the King of Accra.
The visit formed part of preparatory engagements towards hosting the 2026 awards ceremony in Accra, and underscored respect for traditional authority while recognising Ghana’s cultural significance as the host nation.
The Forty Under 40 Africa Awards 2026 will be held on 14 February 2026 at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel, Accra, bringing together some of Africa’s most influential young leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs under the age of 40. The awards ceremony will be preceded by a Champions Summit themed “Resetting the African Mind: A Giant Step Towards Global Dominance”. The summit will also feature a curated Valentine Fashion Show and Exhibition, showcasing Ghanaian craftsmanship to a continental audience.
The Forty Under 40 Africa Awards is a pan-African platform that recognises and celebrates exceptional young leaders driving innovation, building sustainable enterprises and contributing to social and economic development across the continent. Since its inception, the initiative has honoured over 2,000 high-performing leaders across multiple industries, fostering a strong continental network built on leadership, excellence and impact.
The 2026 edition, hosted in Ghana, is being delivered in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment, and Diaspora Affairs under the Office of the President. The collaboration positions Ghana as a strategic hub for youth leadership, enterprise development, tourism and investment in Africa.
Ahead of the awards night, a curated multi-day Ghana experience, powered by PayAngel, will run from 9 to 13 February 2026, bringing together nominees, finalists, delegates and industry leaders from over 22 African countries. As part of the programme, nominees will have the opportunity to experience Ghanaian cuisine at Kanzo Republic, while engaging with the country’s cultural heritage, tourism destinations, creative economy and emerging investment opportunities.
The Forty Under 40 Africa platform continues to provide a unique space for pacesetters, policymakers, creatives and business leaders to connect, collaborate and contribute to shaping Africa’s future.
Initiated by Xodus Communications Limited, the awards are hosted in South Africa, the United Kingdom, Ghana, across the African continent, and globally in Dubai. The 2026 edition is expected to be a landmark gathering that celebrates Africa’s next generation of leaders while reaffirming Ghana’s position as a centre for culture, leadership and pan-African excellence.
