Matchday 10 of the Ghana Premier League presents some interesting clashes to be played across the country.

After their win against Dreams on matchday 9, Kotoko gear up for a regional derby clash against AshantiGold at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Hearts of Oak will look to get back to winning ways as they welcome Bechem United to the Accra Sports Stadium.

Elsewhere, Legon Cities and Great Olympics will square off in a relegation battle while Berekum Chelsea await the arrival of free scoring Inter Allies.

Eleven Wonders v King Faisal- Techiman

Eleven Wonders pulled off a massive win on matchday 9. They recorded a 2-1 victory over Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium, their first win on the road this season.

Their home form has been average so far with two wins amassed in four games (W2 L2). The Techiman-based outfit are currently in 12th place with 10 points but their goal difference provides some worries.

They have scored just six goals whilst conceding 10 in total. They will aim to spark a significant change when they host King Faisal on Friday.

King Faisal have been in terrible form since the start of the campaign. They are the only team yet to clinch a victory among the top-flight sides after nine games.

The Insha Allah boys’ frustration were compounded after failing to take all three points at home to WAFA on matchday 9.

The Kumasi-based side are currently at the bottom of the log with just four points accumulated. They have conceded 20 goals, the highest in the league but have been good offensively, scoring 12 goals- the joint second highest in the competition.

They will aim to finally clinch their first victory as they travel to Techiman to face Eleven Wonders. The two teams will square off for the first time in the competition.

Prediction: Eleven Wonders 1-0 King Faisal

King Faisal are still struggling to find their feet and Eleven Wonders should take this one.

Legon Cities v Great Olympics- Accra

Legon Cities are slowly making headway in the league after initially going winless in their five opening games.

The Royals have now won two in their last four and have recorded only one loss during that period (W2 D1 L1). Goran Barjaktarevic’s side have clinched both their wins at home.

They do however have some worries. They currently have 10 points in nine matches, just one point above the drop zone and have conceded 11 goals so far, over one goal conceded per game.

They have only found the net on six occasions signaling a need for improvement. They will aim to get their third home win as they play host to Great Olympics.

Great Olympics have been on a roller coaster. The Oly Dade boys after going on a three game losing streak have showed signs of a positive change, winning three of their last five games. They however experienced a setback on matchday 9 with a loss against Eleven Wonders.

The Accra-based outfit have scored one goal per game (9) but have conceded 12, more than one goal per game; the third worst record among the current bottom seven teams.

Their objective now is to get back to winning ways against Legon Cities in a stadium they also call their home.

On head-to-head basis, the two teams have clinched two wins each and scored three goals each.

Prediction: Legon Cities 1-1 Great Olympics

The two sides will likely share the spoils on the day as they are both used to the terrain and it is difficult to find a clear winner.

Berekum Chelsea v Inter Allies- Berekum

Berekum Chelsea are in search of redemption after their shocking 3-1 loss to Elmina Sharks on matchday 9. The Blues are however in the title race having amassed 17 points in the league, one of the five elite teams to achieve that tally.

Asare Bediako’s side have conceded six goals in nine games. That may be a good statistic but it is the joint worst number among the top six.

The team has also scored eight in the same number of games, a cause for worry. They are currently fifth on the log.

Chelsea will hope to get back to winning ways as they prepare for a showdown with the free scoring Inter Allies team.

They have scored 10 goals in nine games, the third highest tally among the top half of the table and have conceded five in the same number of matches (0.55 goals conceded per game).

Maxwell Konadu’s men have been unbeaten in their last five games with six goals scored and just two conceded in that period and their 1-0 away win against Dreams showed that they are a team to fear.

The Kumasi-based side will hope to extend their run to six games as they host an AshantiGold side who have also been impressive so far.

AshantiGold have also been one of the best teams in the league so far. The Miners have also amassed the joint highest points in the league after nine matches (17).

They also boast of the best defence in the competition having conceded just two goals after nine matches, just 0.22 goals per game.

Their attack is however a cause for concern as they have only found the net eight times during the period (0.88 goals per game), the joint worst tally among the top five sides.

The Obuasi-based side have only won one away game and will aim to get their second at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.

In their last five Premier League meetings AshantiGold have won two and lost one (W2 D2 L1).

Liberty Professionals v Aduana Stars- Dansoman

Liberty have been uninspiring so far this season. The Scientific Soccer lads have only amassed 10 points in nine games, one point above the relegation zone.

They have conceded 11 goals whilst scoring one less, indicating their frailties in defence. David Ocloo’s side were unsuccessful in their previous game, falling to a 1-0 defeat in Obuasi.

There is however some good news for them as they have regained the license to use the Carl Reindolf Park. They were banned from using the stadium after three snakes were killed in their match against Hearts of Oak.

They will hope that their return to their favoured ground will spur them on to victory over Aduana Stars.

Aduana Stars have been no pushovers. They have accumulated the joint most points in the league so far (17) and are currently at the summit of the table with 12 goals scored and six conceded.

The Ogya boys have however been without a win in their last two games (1D 1L). On matchday 9, they were held to a goalless draw by Hearts of Oak at home.

The Dormaa based club will look to get back to winning ways as they prepare to make the trip to Dansoman for a clash with Liberty Professionals.

Aduana Stars have been dominant on head-to-head basis, winning four of their last five against Liberty (W4 D1).

In their last five encounters, WAFA have been dominant with three wins (W3 D1 L1).

WAFA have the home advantage and should make it count against their upcoming opponents.

 Medeama v Elmina Sharks- Tarkwa

Medeama have been excellent since the start of the season. The Mauve and Yellows have amassed 17 points so far, the joint highest amount in the league.

Samuel Boadu’s men have scored 11 goals, the second highest tally among the top five and conceded five goals, the joint second best record among the top five.

The Tarkwa-based side were held to a 1-1 draw by Karela on matchday nine and would look to get back on track as they welcome Elmina Sharks to the Akoon Park in Tarkwa.
