The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has thrown its full weight behind the national men's 4x100 relay team and has called on corporate and state institutions to invest in the team as they prepare to take on the world at the upcoming 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan.
The meeting runs from September 13 to 21, where top athletes from all over the world will converge to determine global champions.
The GOC, in a bid to enhance the performance of Team Ghana at the World Championship, has sponsored the camping of the men 4x100 metres relay team, affirming its commitment to supporting the development and promotion of athletics in Ghana.

Top 7 men’s 100m sprinters, namely Abdul-Rasheed Saminu, Benjamin Azamati, Ibrahim Fuseini, Barnabas Aggerh, Mustapha Bokpin, Isaac Botsio and captain Joe Paul Amoah will be in Texas, USA, for a secluded training camp at Texas A&M University–Commerce under Coach George Pincock.
The camping is organised by Ghana Athletics in close coordination and financial support from the Ghana Olympic Committee.
With the World Championships just around the corner, the team is focused on fine-tuning its skills and perfecting its baton exchange techniques.

According to the GOC President, Richard Akpokavie Esq., "We are excited to support our relay team and sprinters as they prepare for the World Championships. We believe in their potential and are confident that with the right support, they can make a strong impression on the world stage."
“These athletes have been very consistent with their performances. I watch them bring joy to Ghanaians any time they get to the track. The GOC’s support is not enough hence my call on Ghana to support the team to deliver, for their success will bring joy to Ghana.”
Earlier, the GOC had extended similar support to a number of federations like armwrestling, badminton, rugby, rowing, table tennis, volleyball, bodybuilding, GUSA and others.
This support is part of the GOC's ongoing efforts to boost the performance of Ghanaian athletes on the international stage.
