Central Regional Minister, Samuel Sarpong has assured residents of the region of government’s resolve to complete all projects earmarked for the region within its four-year term.
Samuel Sarpong, who paid a visit to the 16,000 capacity Cape Coast sports complex under construction, said he is pleased with the rate of work so far.
He toured the facility with the Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of Cape Coast, Priscilla Arhin.
He told JoyNews’ Richard Kojo Nyarko that he is happy the Cape Coast sports stadium project is gradually becoming a reality.
The minister wants residents to keep faith with the government as it delivers on what was promised the people of the Central Region.
The sports complex is expected to have facilities including athletics run-way, two football fields with natural turf, two basketball courts, handball courts, tennis courts, boxing training field, gymnasium, athletes hostel, LED electronic display and an audio system.
The Project Manager of the Chinese constructing firm, Dang Gui Yin, apart from the assurance of working to complete the work within schedule, also assured the minister of adequate measures put in place to ensure the safety of workers after persistent complaints by the workers of their safety.
The completion of the stadium will take the nation’s stadium to five.
